Your mobile charge cord is probably all you need

Your EV almost certainly came with a mobile charge cord in the trunk. At a property with GoPower, that cord is the whole setup — plug it into the Level 1 receptacle on the PowerPort3 in your space and you are charging.

Two outlets, one decision

With GoPower's PowerPort3 you have the option to plug in for a Level 1 or a Level 2 charge. The difference is voltage, and what that means in practice is how much range you gain per hour parked.

Level 1

120V

A standard receptacle, the same kind you have at home. Your mobile charge cord plugs straight in.

Level 2

11.7miles of range per hour

Higher voltage, roughly double the range per hour. There when you need a faster turnaround.

Every PowerPort3 has both. You choose which one you plug into.

You may need a NEMA 6-20 adapter for your charging cord to use the 208V receptacle.

Most drivers get plenty from Level 1

An overnight Level 1 charge covers the daily driving of the large majority of residents. Unless you have just come off a long trip, the slower outlet keeps up with you without you thinking about it — and charging slowly is the better choice in four separate ways.

Charging at a slower speed is easier on the pack over the life of the car.

Fairer to your neighbors

It shares the available electricity with the other EVs at your property.

Better for the grid

Spread-out, low-power charging is the kind of load the grid can absorb.

Cheaper

You pay less per session than you would pulling the higher rate.

When to take the Level 2

Back-to-back long days, an early departure, a guest vehicle to top up — those are the nights to use the center receptacle. It is there for the exception, not the routine, and you can switch between the two whenever you like from the app.
